High-Efficiency Mineral Oil Defoamer for Namibia Industrial Processing
Namibia, as one of the most arid countries in sub-Saharan Africa, faces unique challenges in water management and industrial sustainability. The demand for high-efficiency coagulants and flocculants has seen a significant surge as the nation balances its booming mining sector with the critical need for water conservation. From the uranium mines in the Erongo region to the municipal water reclamation plants in Windhoek, specialized chemical treatment is the backbone of Namibia's environmental strategy.
The Namibian mining industry—encompassing diamonds, uranium, copper, and gold—requires massive volumes of water for mineral processing. Our specialized Anionic Polyacrylamide (APAM) and heavy metal removal agents are engineered to handle the high salinity and mineral loads typical of Namibian ore bodies. By accelerating the settling of suspended solids in tailings dams, our flocculants allow mines to recycle up to 90% of their process water, significantly reducing the strain on the national grid and the coastal desalination plants.
Smedic Technology Co., Ltd. was established in 2011 as a comprehensive solution provider specialized in environmental protection agents, integrating R&D, production, sales, and engineering-related technical services. We are dedicated to providing customers with customized chemical products, technical solutions, and services. Smedic produces environmental protection agents covering multiple sectors such as municipal sewage, industrial wastewater, and tap water treatment, as well as mineral processing agents, and oilfield chemicals. We offer more than 80 different environmental protection products, with an annual production capacity exceeding 1 million tons.

As Namibia moves towards its "Vision 2030" goals, the water treatment industry is undergoing a digital and green transformation. We are seeing three major trends:
A shift from traditional alum-based products to biodegradable, organic covalent bond flocculants that minimize residual sludge toxicity.
Integration of AI-driven sensors in Namibian industrial plants to optimize chemical consumption, reducing waste and cost.
Increasing adoption of ZLD systems in the Namibian food and beverage sector, requiring high-performance defoamers and scale inhibitors.
1. Desalination Pre-treatment: With the Orano Desalination Plant and future projects near Swakopmund, our coagulants play a vital role in removing marine organics and suspended solids before reverse osmosis, extending membrane life.
2. Fish Processing Industry: In Walvis Bay and Lüderitz, the fishing industry generates wastewater high in proteins and oils. Our mineral oil defoamers and specialized flocculants ensure effluent meets the strict MARPOL and local municipal standards.
3. Agriculture & Irrigation: Treatment of borehole water in the Hardap region to remove carbonates and prevent scale in drip irrigation systems, utilizing our organophosphorus inhibitors.
Our corporate headquarters is located in Beijing, we have multiple wholly-owned production bases in Hebei, Guizhou, Shanxi, and other regions, and have set up more than ten OEM partner factories and regional warehousing and logistics bases in Shandong, Shanxi, Anhui, Guangxi, and Sichuan provinces, among others. Our business and service network covers over 20 provinces across China. Our projects involve more than 600 urban sewage treatment plants and over 1,000 end customers in industrial wastewater treatment, mineral processing, and oilfield chemicals. The total sewage treatment capacity involved in the projects exceeds 20 million tons per day. We are a leading company in the Chinese market within the high-end segment of environmental protection chemicals for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment.

We have obtained qualifications such as National High-tech Enterprise, National Specialized, Refined, Unique and Innovative "Little Giant" Enterprise, and Hebei Province Green Factory. Our core technical team is composed of academicians, experts, and senior engineers. We have established an R&D system centered around one academy, three research institutes, and five bases. We have established the Hebei Provincial Enterprise Technology Center and have set up joint R&D laboratories with Shandong University and Beijing University of Technology.
The patented technologies and products we have independently developed, such as the bio-enhanced denitrification carbon source and the deep multi-nuclear phosphorus removal agent, have been appraised as “internationally advanced”. Our independently developed “Inorganic-Organic Covalent Bond Flocculant” has won the 22nd China Patent Award and the First Prize for Technological Invention from the China Petrochemical Industry Association.
We have been recognized as the “Leading Brand of Advanced Wastewater Treatment Chemicals” for four consecutive years and maintain strategic partnerships with major water groups like Shouchuang Ecological and Environmental Group and Beijing Enterprises Water Group.

We have been granted over sixty Chinese patents and led the drafting of more than ten national and industry standards.
